Gujarat COVID-19 figures on Wednesday touched 2,01,949 as the state recorded 1,540 new cases. This is the third time that cases have gone past 1500.
On November 20, the first time in over a month cases had once again crossed the 1400 mark. The state has recorded over 1,300 cases for 27 days now while it has recorded over 1,400 cases for 12 days so far.
The state has carried out 91,459 tests in the last 24 hours. 1,283 patients were cured of COVID-19 in the state in the last 24 hours taking the recovery rate to 90.99%.
The state has in all recorded 14,287 active cases of which 96 are on ventilator support. So far 1,83,756 patients have recovered from the disease in the state.
The state also saw 14 fatalities due to the disease. Of these, 10 are in Ahmedabad and two in Surat, and one each in Botad and Vadodara.
Of the total deaths in Ahmedabad, nine were in AMC limits and two in SMC. With this, the Gujarat COVID-19 fatalities stand at 3,906.
The addition of 10 reported in the past 24 hours has taken the death toll due to COVID-19 in Ahmedabad to 2,005. The death toll has increased to 106 in Surat, whereas it remains 216 for Vadodara and 99 for Gandhinagar.
Surat city saw 221 new cases being recorded while 56 were reported from the district. Similarly, the Ahmedabad Corporation area had 326 new cases while it was 23 in the district. This is the fifth time in over two months that cases in Ahmedabad city have surged past 300.
Vadodara and Gandhinagar corporations respectively recorded 128 and 42 cases. Interestingly, the city limits of Gandhinagar had fewer cases than the district. This is the highest Vadodara has recorded so far.
Gujarat COVID-19 other interesting statistics
The state has so far crossed over 1,200 cases per day 12 times. Gujarat has recorded over 1,100 cases 32 times, over 1,000 cases 26 times, over 900 cases 21 times, and over 800 cases for six days. It has recorded more than 700 cases in a day five times so far.
91,459 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours as part of Gujarat COVID-19 with the number of tests per million per day now standing at 1307.06. The state has tested over 74 lakh people for COVID-19 since the pandemic began.
