Gujarat COVID-19 Update: 1,340 new cases

Gujarat COVID-19 figures on Thursday touched 1,92,982 as the state recorded 1,340 new cases. The state has recorded over 1,300 cases for 27 days now while it has recorded over 1,400 cases for nine days so far. The cases have crossed the 1300 mark after over a month.

The state has carried out 54,907 tests in the last 24 hours. 1,113 patients were cured of COVID-19 in the state in the last 24 hours taking the recovery rate to 91.45%. 

The state has in all recorded 12,677 active cases of which 87 are on ventilator support. So far 1,76,475 patients have recovered from the disease in the state.

The state also saw seven fatalities due to the disease. Of these, three are in Ahmedabad, two in Surat, and one each in Vadodara and Gandhinagar Patan.

Of the total deaths in Ahmedabad, all were in AMC limits and two in SMC. With this, the Gujarat COVID-19 fatalities stand at 3,830.

 The addition of three fatalities reported in the past 24 hours has taken the death toll due to COVID-19 in Ahmedabad to 1,954. The death toll has increased to 94 in Surat, whereas it remains 214 for Vadodara and 98 for Gandhinagar.

 Surat city saw 195 new cases being recorded while 44 were reported from the district. Similarly, the Ahmedabad Corporation area had 230 new cases while it was 16 in the district.

 Vadodara and Gandhinagar corporations respectively recorded 106 and 50 cases. Interestingly, the city limits of Gandhinagar had fewer cases than the district.

 Gujarat COVID-19 other interesting statistics  

 The state has so far crossed over 1,200 cases per day 12 times. Gujarat has recorded over 1,100 cases 32 times, over 1,000 cases 26 times, over 900 cases 21 times, and over 800 cases for six days. It has recorded more than 700 cases in a day five times so far.

 54,907 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours as part of Gujarat COVID-19 with the number of tests per million per day now standing at 844.72. The state has tested over 70 lakh people for COVID-19 since the pandemic began.
