Gujarat COVID-19 Update: 926 new cases


Gujarat COVID-19 figures on Monday touched 1,89,236 as the state recorded 926 new cases. The state has recorded over 1,300 cases for 26 days now while it has recorded over 1,400 cases for nine days so far. 

The state has carried out 39,383 tests in the last 24 hours. 1040 patients were cured of COVID-19 in the state in the last 24 hours taking the recovery rate to 91.41%. 

The state has in all recorded 12,456 active cases of which 62 are on ventilator support. So far 1,72,972 patients have recovered from the disease in the state.

The state also saw five fatalities due to the disease. Of these, three are in Ahmedabad and one each in Surat and Rajkot.

Of the total deaths in Ahmedabad, three were in AMC limits and one in SMC. With this, the Gujarat COVID-19 fatalities stand at 3,808.

The addition of three fatalities reported in the past 24 hours has taken the death toll due to COVID-19 in Ahmedabad to 1,942. The death toll has increased to 871in Surat, whereas it remains 213 for Vadodara and 97 for Gandhinagar.

Surat city saw 124 new cases being recorded while 17 were reported from the district. Similarly, the Ahmedabad Corporation area had 210 new cases while it was 15 in the district.

Vadodara and Gandhinagar corporations respectively recorded 104 and 17 cases. Interestingly, the city limits of Gandhinagar had fewer cases than the district.

Gujarat COVID-19 other interesting statistics  

The state has so far crossed over 1,200 cases per day 11 times. Gujarat has recorded over 1,100 cases 31 times, over 1,000 cases 26 times, over 900 cases 21 times and over 800 cases for six days. It has recorded more than 700 cases in a day five times so far.

39,383 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours as part of Gujarat COVID-19 with the number of tests per million per day now standing at 814.97. The state has tested over 68 lakh people for COVID-19 since the pandemic began.
