Gujarat COVID-19 Update: 1049 new cases

Gujarat COVID-19 figures on Tuesday touched 1,82,719 as the state recorded 1,049 new cases. The state has recorded over 1,300 cases for 26 days now while it has recorded over 1,400 cases for nine days so far. 

The state has carried out 52,960 tests in the last 24 hours. 879 patients were cured of COVID-19 in the state in the last 24 hours taking the recovery rate to 91.11%. 

The state has in all recorded 12,478 active cases of which 69 are on ventilator support. So far 1,66,468 patients have recovered from the disease in the state.

The state also saw five fatalities due to the disease. Of these, three are in Ahmedabad and one in Rajkot and Surat.

Of the total deaths in Ahmedabad, three were in AMC limits and one in SMC. With this, the Gujarat COVID-19 fatalities stand at 3,773.

The addition of three fatalities reported in the past 24 hours has taken the death toll due to COVID-19 in Ahmedabad to 1,926. The death toll has increased to 864 in Surat, whereas it remains 210 for Vadodara and 95 for Gandhinagar.

 Surat city saw 149 new cases being recorded while 34 were reported from the district. Similarly, the Ahmedabad Corporation area had 166 new cases while it was 12 in the district.

 Vadodara and Gandhinagar corporations respectively recorded 80 and 34 cases. Interestingly, the city limits of Gandhinagar had fewer cases than the district.

 Gujarat COVID-19 other interesting statistics  

 The state has so far crossed over 1,200 cases per day 11 times. Gujarat has recorded over 1,100 cases 28 times, over 1,000 cases 25 times, over 900 cases 20 times and over 800 cases for six days. It has recorded more than 700 cases in a day five times so far.

 52,960 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours as part of Gujarat COVID-19 with the number of tests per million per day now standing at 814.77. The state has tested over 65 lakh people for COVID-19 since the pandemic began.
