Gujarat COVID-19 Update: 1,281 new cases


Gujarat COVID-19 figures on Wednesday touched 1,91,642 as the state recorded 1,281 new cases. The state has recorded over 1,300 cases for 26 days now while it has recorded over 1,400 cases for nine days so far. 

The state has carried out 54,256 tests in the last 24 hours. 1,274 patients were cured of COVID-19 in the state in the last 24 hours taking the recovery rate to 91.50%. 

The state has in all recorded 12,457 active cases of which 83 are on ventilator support. So far 1,75,362 patients have recovered from the disease in the state.

The state also saw eight fatalities due to the disease. Of these, five are in Ahmedabad, two in Surat, and one in Patan. Of the total deaths in Ahmedabad, four were in AMC limits and two in SMC. With this, the Gujarat COVID-19 fatalities stand at 3,823.

The addition of five fatalities reported in the past 24 hours has taken the death toll due to COVID-19 in Ahmedabad to 1,951. The death toll has increased to 92 in Surat, whereas it remains 213 for Vadodara and 97 for Gandhinagar.

Surat city saw 181 new cases being recorded while 43 were reported from the district. Similarly, the Ahmedabad Corporation area had 207 new cases while it was 13 in the district.

Vadodara and Gandhinagar corporations respectively recorded 104 and 38 cases. Interestingly, the city limits of Gandhinagar had fewer cases than the district.

 Gujarat COVID-19 other interesting statistics  

The state has so far crossed over 1,200 cases per day 12 times. Gujarat has recorded over 1,100 cases 32 times, over 1,000 cases 26 times, over 900 cases 21 times, and over 800 cases for six days. It has recorded more than 700 cases in a day five times so far.

54,256 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours as part of Gujarat COVID-19 with the number of tests per million per day now standing at 834.71. The state has tested over 69 lakh people for COVID-19 since the pandemic began.
