Gujarat COVID-19 Update: 1,204 new cases

Gujarat COVID-19 figures on Saturday touched 2,26,508 as the state recorded 1,204 new cases. Cases have gone past the 1500 mark 11 times while per day cases have crossed 1600 once so far.

The state has recorded over 1,300 cases for 30 days now while it has recorded over 1,400 cases for 14 days so far. 

The state has carried out 60,423 tests in the last 24 hours. 1,338 patients were cured of COVID-19 in the state in the last 24 hours taking the recovery rate to 92.21%. 

The state has in all recorded 13,481 active cases of which 68 are on ventilator support. So far 2,08,867 patients have recovered from the disease in the state.

The state also saw 12 fatalities due to the disease. Of these, five are in Ahmedabad and two in Surat, and one each in Anand, Mehsana, Navsari, Rajkot, Vadodara.

Of the total deaths in Ahmedabad, five were in AMC limits and two in SMC limits. With this, the Gujarat COVID-19 fatalities stand at 4,160.

The addition of five cases reported in the past 24 hours has taken the death toll due to COVID-19 in Ahmedabad to 2,165. The death toll has increased to 933 in Surat, whereas it remains 225 for Vadodara and 103 for Gandhinagar.

Surat city saw 158 new cases being recorded while 20 were reported from the district. Similarly, the Ahmedabad Corporation area had 251 new cases while it was nine in the district.

Vadodara and Gandhinagar corporations respectively recorded 117 and 22 cases. Interestingly, the city limits of Gandhinagar had fewer cases than the district. 

Gujarat COVID-19 other interesting statistics  

The state has so far crossed over 1,200 cases per day 15 times. Gujarat has recorded over 1,100 cases 32 times, over 1,000 cases 26 times, over 900 cases 21 times, and over 800 cases for six days. It has recorded more than 700 cases in a day five times so far.

60,423 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours as part of Gujarat COVID-19 with the number of tests per million per day now standing at 929.58. The state has tested over 86 lakh people for COVID-19 since the pandemic began.
