A marriage ceremony in Vejalpur scheduled to be held on December 9 had to be postponed after the groom and his mother tested positive for COVID-19. The groom who works with the high court tested positive and so the wedding has been halted as of now.

The youth got to know about his COVID-19 status after testing was conducted at his office on November 24. Sources said all the preparations for the youth’s wedding, scheduled for December 9, had been done and invitation cards sent out but the family could not go ahead with it as the groom and his mother both tested positive.

Sources said the family was tested after the groom tested positive. Earlier the curfew imposed in the city on the weekends had also ended up disrupting several weddings in Ahmedabad. Wedding planners and event managers had said they suffered losses due to the 57-hour sudden curfew.
