The Gujarat Public Service Commission (GPSC) has decided to postpone the exams of medical teachers which were to be held from November 22 due to a surge in COVID-19 cases in the state.
On Thursday the state also announced a curfew in Ahmedabad from Friday 9 pm till Monday 6 am. The exams were to be held on November 22, 24, 26, 28, and 29 for the recruitment of medical teachers in various government medical colleges.
The examination operating body clarified that candidates will be informed of the new examination dates via SMS or email.
Status of other exams
Interestingly Institute of Chartered Account of India (ICAI) will conduct its exam tomorrow at various centers in the country. As of now, it is not known if the same will be postponed or not given the curfew in Ahmedabad.
More than 5 lakh students will appear for the same at various centers across the country. ICAI has asked its students to follow safety protocols and COVID-19 prevention guidelines issued by the government.
Also, the state has decided to halt the State Transport Bus Services to Ahmedabad for the curfew period. Sources said COVID-19 testing will also be increased in the city to prevent the further spread of the disease.
