- Work on 6 lane underpass near ring road begins
Deputy chief minister Nitin Patel on Thursday said that despite the COVID situation infrastructure projects in the state continued in an attempt to ensure that economic activities were not hindered and employment was generated.
Patel said the flyover on the Gandhinagar-Sarkhej highway near the Vaishnodevei circle built for Rs28 crore has been completed. He said the flyover will be thrown open for the public in the coming days.
He said over 1 lakh vehicles cross the stretch and the presence of the flyover will speed up the commute and provide a safe mode to travel.
Patel took stock of the flyover and the Khodiyar overbridge and later while talking to the media said that a six-lane underpass will also be constructed with the support of AUDA.
He said with this one stretch of road will have a flyover, underpass, and a service road.
Patel said the new structure will connect the airport and take one towards Saurashtra which will help ease the commute problems of those going towards the region.
He said the work on the overbridge near the Khodiyar container has also been completed and will soon be thrown open for the public.
Earlier flyovers had been constructed near the Pakwan crossroads and Sanand Circle to ease traffic woes on the SG Highway.
