The drive-through vaccination, the second such being held in the city, has got a tremendous response from citizens. The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) had organized a drive-through vaccination at the Drive-in Cinema in the city from Monday onwards. The drive-through vaccination at Drive-in Cinema is for those above 45 years of age and vaccination is available from 9 am to 5 pm.

Though the vaccination was to begin at 9 am, people had queued up from early morning to get vaccinated resulting in a long line.

Other drive-through vaccination initiatives

In Ahmedabad, the AMC and Ashirwad Foundation had organized a drive-through vaccination at Navrangpura stadium from Saturday onwards. The day one of the drive-through vaccination saw a long queue of cars and two-wheelers. The latter was also allowed to encourage more people to take advantage of the vaccination drive.

The drive-through vaccination centre was set up at Bhuj’s RD Varsani ground earlier. This came as Kutch registered a surge in cases during the second wave of COVID. The drive-through vaccination centre was to expedite the vaccination drive in the district.

The drive-through allowed people to get vaccinated without having to step out of their vehicle. However, online registration was a must to access the drive-through vaccination facility. In all, 200 people are being vaccinated at the facility.
