Police have recovered 450 Remdesivir injections from Dhruvi Pharma in Gota. Investigations are on in the case and the cops have sought stock details and other documents. The buzz in the police circles is that the raids happened after an IPS officer from the city could not get Remdesivir injections.
As of now, only an application has been filed against the pharma company and nothing concrete has been found against the firm. The Ahmedabad Crime Branch had raided the Dhruvi Pharmaceutical
on Sunday night and recovered a batch of 400 Remdesivir injections.
The police have not given out a statement about the raid. It is still being investigated whether the 400 Remdesivir injections were being hoarded or not.
Police said they have sought stock details, bills of purchase, and other documents and the statement of the pharma company owner will also be taken.
Earlier action was taken against two pharma companies in Vadodara for black marketing of the injection. The buzz in the police circles is that the recent raid at Dhruvi Pharma happened after an IPS officer failed to get the Remdesivir injection.
President of Chemist Association Jashu Patel said that it seems the VVIPS and officers have already stocked the injections.
He said indiscriminate use of the injection without proper guidelines can lead to impact on the kidneys and liver and it is imperative to come out with a guideline for the same.
It is being alleged that the company is authorized to sell the stock wholesale but has also sold it in retail and it is a matter of investigation if the company had the license to sell it in retail.
