Gujarat COVID-19 Update: 992 new cases


Gujarat COVID-19 figures on Tuesday touched 1,69,073 as the state recorded 992 new cases. The cases have dipped below the 1,300 level after more than a month and below 1,200 after several months.

The state has recorded over 1,300 cases for 26 days now while it has recorded over 1,400 cases for nine days so far.

 The state has carried out 51,927 tests in the last 24 hours. 1,238 patients were cured of COVID-19 in the state in the last 24 hours taking the recovery rate to 89.84%. 

The state has in all recorded 13,487 active cases of which 64 are on ventilator support. So far 1,51,888 patients have recovered from the disease in the state.

The state also saw five fatalities due to the disease. Of these, two were in Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar and one in Surat. 

Of the total deaths in Surat and Ahmedabad, two were in AMC and one in SMC. this, the Gujarat COVID-19 fatalities stand at 3,698.

 The addition of two fatalities reported in the past 24 hours has taken the death toll due to COVID-19 in Ahmedabad to 1,896. The death toll has increased to 842 in Surat, whereas it remains 207 for Vadodara and 92 for Gandhinagar.

 Surat city saw 163 new cases being recorded while 62 were reported from the district. Similarly, the Ahmedabad Corporation area had 158 new cases while it was 12 in the district.

 Vadodara and Gandhinagar corporations respectively recorded 75 and 26 cases. Interestingly, the city limits of Gandhinagar had fewer cases than the district.

 Gujarat COVID-19 other interesting statistics  

 The state has so far crossed over 1,200 cases per day 11 times. Gujarat has recorded over 1,100 cases 28 times, over 1,000 cases 21 times, over 900 cases 12 times and over 800 cases for four consecutive days. It has recorded more than 700 cases in a day five times so far.

 51,927 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours as part of Gujarat COVID-19 with the number of tests per million per day now standing at 798.88. The state has tested over 58 lakh people for COVID-19 since the pandemic began.
