Gujarat COVID-19 Update: 1,510 new cases


Gujarat COVID-19 figures on Friday touched 2,15,819 as the state recorded 1,510 new cases. Cases have gone past 1500, ten times while per day cases have crossed 1600 once so far.

The state has recorded over 1,300 cases for 27 days now while it has recorded over 1,400 cases for 13 days so far. 

The state has carried out 69,324 tests in the last 24 hours. 1,627 patients were cured of COVID-19 in the state in the last 24 hours taking the recovery rate to 91.28%. 

The state has in all recorded 14,778 active cases of which 92 are on ventilator support. So far 1,96,992 patients have recovered from the disease in the state.

The state also saw 18 fatalities due to the disease. Of these, 13 are in Ahmedabad and two in Surat and Rajkot each. Vadodara also recorded one case.

Of the total deaths in Ahmedabad, 13 were in AMC limits and two in SMC limits. With this, the Gujarat COVID-19 fatalities stand at 4,049.

The addition of 13 cases reported in the past 24 hours has taken the death toll due to COVID-19 in Ahmedabad to 2,102. The death toll has increased to 912 in Surat, whereas it remains 222 for Vadodara and 103 for Gandhinagar.

Surat city saw 212 new cases being recorded while 37 were reported from the district. Similarly, the Ahmedabad Corporation area had 298 new cases while it was 24 in the district.

Vadodara and Gandhinagar corporations respectively recorded 132 and 27 cases. Interestingly, the city limits of Gandhinagar had fewer cases than the district. 

Gujarat COVID-19 other interesting statistics  

The state has so far crossed over 1,200 cases per day 12 times. Gujarat has recorded over 1,100 cases 32 times, over 1,000 cases 26 times, over 900 cases 21 times, and over 800 cases for six days. It has recorded more than 700 cases in a day five times so far.

69,324 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours as part of Gujarat COVID-19 with the number of tests per million per day now standing at 1066.525. The state has tested over 81 lakh people for COVID-19 since the pandemic began.
