Six employees at Congress’ office in Ahmedabad have tested positive for COVID-19. Earlier, the BJP’s headquarters Kamlam had also reported a surge in COVID-19 cases among those working there.
Those who have come in contact with the employees were asked to test themselves. Among those who tested positive at the Congress’ office in Paldi are, Office Superintendent Raju Kusumgar, two people in his office and three in the accounting department.
Recently, the Congress office saw a surge in visitors due to the bypolls for eight seats in the state. The office had seen a lot of visitors as the local body elections in the state were also due.
Gujarat has reported 975 cases in the last 24 hours while it recorded six deaths due to the disease. In all 1,022 patients recovered from the disease in the last 24 hours.
AMC begins testing farsan shop owners for COVID-19
The AMC has begun testing traders and farsan shop owners ahead of Diwali. Sweetshops in the city are likely to see a surge of people during Diwali and the AMC is testing such shop owners and their workers to prevent them from becoming super spreaders.
The AMC is targeting shops in major bazaars and sweet and farsan shop owners. Jewellery shop owners and grocery shops will also be tested.
