BREAKING: Class 12 state board exams to be held in Gujarat, here are the new dates & rules…

  • The Class 12 board exams for state board students in the science and general stream will begin from July 1, 2021, onwards. The decision to impact 6.83 lakh class 12 board, students.
  • Exams to be held under strict SOP for COVID.
  • Science stream students will have 50% of questions in MCQ OMR format while the rest will be a detailed questionnaire. Each exam will last three hours.
  • There will be no MCQ OMR questions for commerce and arts stream students. Their questions will be in a subjective format.
  • Board students will get an exam center close to their school so that they won’t have to travel far during COVID times.

  • More exam centers to be set up to conduct board exams including in areas that at present may not have an exam center.
  • For those students who are unable to take the test either due to COVID or some other reason, the exams will be conducted again after a gap of 25 days with a new set of question papers and timings.
  • Each class will only have 20 students who will appear for the board exams.
  • Social distancing, mask, and thermal gun scanners will be mandatory for all exam centers.
  • The decision was taken following a high-level meeting chaired by chief minister Vijay Rupani about the Class 12 board exams.
  • 1.4 lakh class 12 science students and 5.43 general stream students are awaiting the board exams in the state.
  • The state decided to conduct the board exams for class 12 as the results are needed to evaluate their application for admission to colleges.
  • Earlier the Gujarat government has cancelled the class 10 board exams and provided merit-based promotion to students.
  •  Repeat exams for Class 10 board students will also follow the same pattern. Repeat exams refer to exams conducted for students who could not clear their board exams in the first attempt and are given another intermediate attempt.
