Car-truck accident in Vadodara kills AAP leader, 2 others


An accident between a car and truck in the early morning near Kapurai Chokdi on the Ahmedabad-Vadodara national highway resulted in the death of three people riding in the car.

Among those killed is an Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader from Surat Ashok Godani. He had been travelling in the car with his two friends Sanjay Godani and Rajubhai Gondaliya.

The trio was on their way back from Saurashtra after helping those who were suffering from COVID. As per reports, around early morning the driver dozed off and lost control of the steering, which led the car to hit the divider and get into the wrong side near hotel Dharti.

A truck that was on its way from Surat to Ahmedabad hit the car that had been pushed into the wrong side. So severe was the impact of the accident that the trio died on the spot. The road was blocked for half an hour due to the accident.

The Panigale police and the fire brigade rushed to the spot and helped clear the site. The bodies were sent for post mortem. The cops used the license and other documents to trace the kin of the deceased.

Other recent accidents

In May, five employees of a private company operating out of Jhagadia GIDC in Bharuch were killed after a truck rammed into their company vehicle pushing it into a ravine.

The employees were traveling in an Eco car and were returning home when a speeding truck from the Movi Metranj route came towards them. To avoid hitting the same, the driver dived to the wrong side and got hit by another truck, and the car was pushed into a ravine by the impact.

On May 10, a deadly accident between an Innova car and a Duster near SG Highway left one person dead. The injured were shifted to a nearby hospital.
