The AMC has dismantled the zipline it built near the Riverfront behind NID for the sealant to safely land and take off. The seaplane service between Kevadia and Ahmedabad will begin from October 31 onwards.
The AMC had got the zip line erected in 2015 near the Riverfront at a cost of Rs50 lakh. The zip line that was 350 mt wide and 20 mt in height allowed those interested to zip from one end of river Sabarmati to another.
The fee was Rs200 per person. RK Mehta, Deputy Municipal Commissioner said that the zip line was proving to be an obstruction in the flight path of the seaplane.
“The Civil Aviation Department had requested us to move the zipline and hence we moved it. We are looking at whether the zip line can be dismantled and erected somewhere else and if found feasible will be done soon,” Mehta said.

The seaplane is a Twin Otter 300 which will be operated by SpiceJet. The plane can seat 19 people at a time.
