- SVP Hospital and LG Hospital to provide both COVID and non-COVID treatment
Given the drop in COVID cases in the city, the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation has decided that VS Hospital and Shardaben Hospital will no more be COVID centres from May 31 onwards.
They will begin non-COVID Out Patient Department (OPD) and indoor services from May 31 onwards.
Other AMC-run hospitals like SVP and LG Hospital will provide both COVID and non-COVID services.
The AMC said that the city had seen a surge in COVID cases from April onwards and so VS Hospital, Shardaben Hospital, SVP, and LG Hospital had been declared as COVID hospitals.
But since the cases are on the decline non-COVID patients must be addressed too. Hence non-COVID OPD and indoor services at VS Hospital and Shardaben will begin from May 31 onwards.
However, the other two AMC hospital will provide both COVID and non-COVID facilities. At SVP, 186 general and 194 oxygen and ICU beds will provide COVID care while 624 general and 96 oxygen cum ICU beds will be for non-COVID patients.
VS Hospital will have 380 general and 120 oxygen beds for non-COVID patients. LG will have 30 general beds and 130 oxygen beds for COVID and 640 general and 5 oxygen beds for non-COVID patients.
Shardaben Hospital will have 280 general and 80 oxygen beds for non-COVID patients.
