AIMIM chief Owaisi likely to visit Modasa & Godhra on Feb 23

AIMIM party chief Asssaduddin Owaisi is likely to visit Gujarat once again on February 23 to campaign for his party during the second phase of civic body polls in Gujarat.

According to the sources the AIMIM chief is likely to hold public meetings in Modasa and Godhra where the party is contesting the elections.

Owaisi will meet people in Modasa and in the evening he will campaign in Godhra. Whether Owaisi will also visit Ahmedabad is not clear as of now. AIMIM’s two representatives – Imtiaz Jaleel and Waris Pathan – are campaigning in the city for the past few days.

Owaisi had in a public meeting on February 7 said that the Congress and BJP are like Mamu – Bhanja. Congress in turn has accused the AIMIM of being BJP’s B-team. Owaisi had during his earlier visit to Ahmedabad claimed that Dalit, tribals, and Muslims were neglected by many political parties. AIMIM may not win but will emerge as a strong voice for the classes, he had said.

Owaisi further said that if they win from several seats from which they are contesting then they will ensure that the voice of the voters is heard. If their issues are not resolved then he will come to Gujarat and protest for them, Owaisi had said.

“I visited Shah E Alam Dargah relief camp with a team of 25 doctors from Hyderabad during 2002 communal riots,” he had said.

The party has appointed ex-MLA Sabir Kabliwala as its state chief in Gujarat. The party has also appointed three spokespersons in Gujarat. Voting for the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation election will take place on February 21.
