For the second consecutive day, Ahmedabad received brief but heavy rain and thundershowers accompanied by lightning. The IMD has said that the monsoon may set in Gujarat by the end of the month. The rains on Friday helped ease the humidity and heat.

The IMD has predicted rains for Gujarat for the next four days. The state is likely to get light thundershowers in several districts of Gujarat, Daman, and Dadra Nagar Haveli. Saurashtra is also likely to see some rain. Kutch however will continue to remain dry. Ahmedabad will continue to have a partly cloudy sky.

The IMD said that the southwest monsoon is likely to reach Goa and Maharashtra by early next week. Monsoon came to Kerala on Thursday, late by two days. It said the Southwest Monsoon has the further advanced and covered whole of Kerala, Lakshadweep, and several parts of Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, and Tamil Nadu.
