Vishal Mistry, Rajpipla: Five employees of a private company operating out of Jhagadia GIDC in Bharuch were killed after a truck rammed into their company vehicle pushing it into a ravine.
10 others were injured and of which 7 were moved to the Public Health Centre while three were shifted to the Civil Hospital in Rajpipla.
A case has been filed against the truck driver.
The employees were traveling in an Eco car and were returning home when a speeding truck from the Movi Metranj route came towards them. To avoid hitting the same, the driver dived to the wrong side and got hit by another truck, and the car was pushed into a ravine by the impact.
While one person died on the spot, four others died while on their way to a hospital.
The truck driver escaped from the spot. The deceased were identified as Jyotsana Vasav, 18 from Nandod, Sonika Vasava, 21, Pravin Vasava, 18, Tirsa Vasava, 21, and Chandrika Vasava 22, all from Netrang.
Other recent accidents
On May 10, a deadly accident between an Innova car and a Duster near SG Highway left one person dead. The injured have been shifted to a nearby hospital.
As per reports, the Innova car had been coming from the Zydus side of SG Highway and was climbing the Gota bridge when the Duster crashed head-on into it at 5.30 pm.
As per reports, the driver of the Duster car lost control of the vehicle and hit a street light pole. So powerful was the impact of the hit that the pole was broken and the car then went on to hit the Innova car.
