Gujarat government announces IAS transfers, promotions

Gandhinagar: The Gujarat government announced promotions and transfers of IAS officers on Monday. Two of these IAS officers are on deputation to the Union government and will continue there.

Dr Ajay Kumar who is on deputation as private secretary to Union education minister has been given proforma promotion and his services continue at the disposal of the government of India.

Managing director of Tourism Corporation of Gujarat Ltd Jenu Devan has been promoted and appointed as superintendent of stamps and inspector general of registration, Gandhinagar. He replaces DG Patel who has been transferred and appointed as commissioner of cooperation and registrar of cooperative societies, Gandhinagar.

DP Desai has been transferred as CEO of AUDA, replacing AB Gor who has been appointed as Vadodara Collector.

RB Barad, who was the Vadodara Collector, has been promoted and his services have been placed at the disposal of Forest and Environment Department.

Jenu Devan will also hold the additional charge of commissioner of labour and employment, a post held by Alok Kumar Pandey, until further orders.

The latter has been promoted and sent to Industries and Mines department to replace Jenu Devan as MD of TCGL.

Ravi Arora, who is on deputation to the GOI as director of Estates, Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, has been given proforma promotion. His services remain at the disposal of GOI.

MD Modia, OSD to Gujarat CM, has been promoted and will continue as OSD to CM against ex-cadre post equivalent to secretary to government.
