Gujarat govt. decision, farmers exempt from penalty on electricity load, company to bear charge

Gandhinagar: Gujarat government has decided to exempt farmers from penalty over electricity load. Farmers with electricity connection, for agriculture will no longer need to pay penalty on excess electricity load. Besides, now inwards the electricity load can also be increased by making payment on the spot. Kisan Sangh earlier presented the problems faced by the farmers before the Gujarat government. Following which the state government has taken the decision providing big relief to the farmers of the state.

Decision following complaint by Kisan Sangh

The farmers will have to pay only the deposit amount after making application for increase in load. Apart from this, the farmers will have to pay the amount on the spot to increase the power load. Farmers have been exempted from the penalty on electricity load and the the electricity company will bear its charge. The time limit for the scheme has been extended to 31 May 2023.The state government has taken this decision acting on the complaint by Kisan Sangh.
