Gujarat govt undertakes major bureaucratic reshuffle, many officers promoted

The Gujarat government on Wednesday undertook a major bureaucratic reshuffle, which includes IAS officers of the rank of additional chief secretaries, principal secretaries, and commissioners. An official order in this regard was issued by the general administration department’s additional chief secretary Kamal Dayani.

Here is who got what:

  • Pankaj Kumar, who was the additional chief secretary of the revenue department and also held the additional charge of the additional chief secretary of the home department, has been relieved from the revenue department. He has been appointed as full-fledged additional chief secretary of the home department.
  • Labour department’s additional chief secretary Vipul Mittra has been transferred and appointed as additional chief secretary of panchayat, rural housing and rural development department in place of Amrendra Kumar Rakesh.
  • Forest and environment department’s additional chief secretary Rajiv Gupta has been transferred and appointed as additional chief secretary of industries and mines department in place of Manoj Kumar Das.
  • Amrendra Kumar Rakesh, additional chief secretary of panchayat, rural housing and rural development department of panchayat, rural housing and rural development department, has been transferred and appointed as additional chief secretary of the general administration department in place of Kamal Dayani.
  • Energy and petrochemicals department’s additional chief secretary Sunaina Tomar has been transferred and appointed as additional chief secretary of social justice and empowerment department in place of Manoj Aggarwal.
  • Kamal Dayani, the additional chief secretary of the general administration department, has been transferred and appointed as additional chief secretary of the revenue department in place of Pankaj Kumar.
  • Manoj Kumar Das, additional chief secretary to chief minister has been given the additional charge of the ports and transport department.
  • Manoj Aggarwal, the additional chief secretary of the social justice and empowerment department, has been transferred and appointed as additional chief secretary of the health and family welfare department.
  • Arunkumar M Solanki, managing director of Gujarat Mineral Development Corporation, has been transferred and appointed as additional chief secretary of forest and environment department in place of Rajiv Kumar Gupta.
  • Mamta Verma, principal secretary of industries and mines department, has been transferred and appointed as principal secretary of energy and petrochemicals department. The bureaucrat will additionally hold the charge of principal secretary of Narmada, water resources, water supply and kalpsar department.
  • Sonal Mishra, secretary of Narmada, water resources, water supply and kalpsar department, has been transferred and appointed as commissioner of rural development, panchayats and rural housing in place of Vijay Nehra.
  • Ramesh Chand Meena, the commissioner of land reforms, has been transferred and appointed as the director-general of Sardar Patel Institute of Public Administration in place of Dhananjay Dwivedi.
  • Hareet Shukla, secretary of science and technology department, has been transferred and appointed as secretary of industries and mines department.
  • Vijay Nehra, the commissioner of rural development, panchayats and rural housing, has been transferred as secretary of the science and technology department.
  • Jai Prakash Shivhare will function as commissioner of health, medical services and medical education, and an ex-officio secretary of the public health and welfare department.
  • Roopwant Singh, secretary of the finance department, has been transferred and appointed as commissioner of the geology and mining department. He would also hold the charge of managing director of Gujarat Mineral Development Corporation Limited.
  • Vadodara Municipal Corporation commissioner Swaroop P has been transferred and appointed as commissioner of land reforms and an ex-officio secretary of the revenue department.
  • Manisha Chandra, secretary of women and child development department has been transferred and appointed as secretary of the finance department.
  • Surat Municipal Corporation commissioner Banchha Nidhi Pani has been promoted to the super-time scale of IAS, but will continue to function as the SMC commissioner.
  • Harshadkumar Ratilal Patel, the commissioner of relief and ex-officio additional secretary of the revenue department, has been also promoted to the super-time scale of IAS. He has been appointed as secretary of the labour and employment department. He will also hold the additional charge of the commissioner of relief and ex-officio secretary of the revenue department.
  • Ponugumatla Bharathi, state project director of Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan, has been also promoted to the super-time scale of IAS and will continue to function in her present role.
  • Ranjeeth Kumar, commissioner of micro, small and medium enterprise, has been also promoted to the super-time scale of IAS and he will continue to function in his present role.
  • Vadodara collector Shalini Agrawal has been also promoted to the super-time scale of IAS. She has been appointed as commissioner of Vadodara Municipal Corporation in place of Swaroop P.
  • KK Nirala, additional secretary of the home department, has been also promoted to the super-time scale of IAS and has been appointed as secretary of the women and child development department.
  • Mehsana collector HK Patel has been also promoted to the super-time scale of IAS and has been appointed as managing director of Gujarat State Civil Supplies Corporation Limited in place of Tushar Dholakia.
  • Jamnagar Municipal Corporation commissioner SA Patel has been also promoted to the super-time scale of IAS and appointed as commissioner of mid-day meals. He will also hold the additional charge of the commissioner of schools.
