Gujarat has reported 1,181 fresh cases of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours ending 5 pm on Sunday. The addition of the fresh cases has taken Gujarat’s total tally to 1,51,596.
3,569 COVID-19 related deaths in Gujarat
Nine deaths were reported in the state in the past 24 hours. The fresh fatalities have taken Gujarat’s COVID-19 related death toll to 3,569. While three deaths have been reported from Surat, four deaths have been reported from Ahmedabad. The districts of Rajkot and Vadodara have reported one death each.
261 fresh cases in Surat, 189 in Ahmedabad
Of the 1,181 fresh cases reported on Sunday, 261 cases have been reported from Surat, 189 cases have been reported from Ahmedabad, 196 cases have been reported from Vadodara, and 41 cases have been reported from the state capital Gandhinagar.
This apart, Rajkot has reported 149 cases, Bhavnagar has reported 13 cases, Mehsana 42 cases, and Jamnagar 98 cases.
Meanwhile, Junagarh has reported 29 fresh cases of the virus, whereas the tribal district of Panchamahals has reported 23 fresh cases. Dahod has reported six cases, Amreli 20 cases and Kheda nine cases.

Similarly, Bharuch has reported 20 cases, Valsad has reported four cases, Anand 11 cases, and Patan 24 cases.
With the addition of the fresh cases, the total COVID-19 case tally in Ahmedabad has increased to 38,926. The total tally has reached 32,179 in Surat, 13,477 in Vadodara, and 4,128 in Gandhinagar.
Ahmedabad’s COVID-19 death toll climbs to 1,850
Similarly, the addition of the four fatalities reported in the past 24 hours has taken the death toll due to COVID-19 in Ahmedabad to 1,850. The death toll has increased to 807 in Surat, whereas it remains 196 for Vadodara and 81 for Gandhinagar.
1.32 lakh COVID-19 patients discharged so far
According to the health department, there are 15,717 active cases of the virus in Gujarat. Of this, 86 patients are critical and have been put on ventilator support. So far, 1.32 lakh patients have been discharged in the state after being treated for the viral infection. In fact, 1,413 patients were discharged in the past 24 hours.
