Gujarat has reported 12,978 fresh cases of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours ending 5 pm on Sunday. The addition of the fresh cases has taken Gujarat’s total tally past 5.94 lakh.
7,508 COVID-19 related deaths in Gujarat
153 deaths were reported in the state in the past 24 hours. The fresh fatalities have taken Gujarat’s COVID-19 related death toll to 7,508. While 27 deaths were reported from Ahmedabad, Surat also reported 13 deaths. Nineteen deaths have been reported from Vadodara, three deaths have been reported from Kutch and seven deaths from Surendranagar. Gandhinagar reported no death, Jamnagar reported 13 deaths and Rajkot reported 15 deaths. Junagarh reported nine deaths. Morbi reported one death and Amreli reported three deaths.
4,744 fresh cases in Ahmedabad, 1,883 in Surat
Of the 12,978 fresh cases reported on Sunday, 4,744 cases have been reported from Ahmedabad, 1,883 cases have been reported from Surat, 735 cases have been reported from Vadodara, and 315 cases have been reported from the state capital Gandhinagar.
This apart, Rajkot has reported 528 cases, Bhavnagar has reported 658 cases, Mehsana 565 cases, and Jamnagar 707 cases.
Meanwhile, Junagarh has reported 293 fresh cases of the virus, whereas the tribal district of Panchamahals has reported 109 fresh cases. Dahod has reported 67 cases, Amreli 119 cases and Kheda 174 cases.

Similarly, Bharuch has reported 44 cases, Valsad has reported 117 cases, Anand 161 cases, and Patan reported 173 cases.
With the addition of the fresh cases, the total COVID-19 case tally in Ahmedabad has increased to 1,76,052. The total tally has reached 1,19,096 in Surat, 52,724 in Vadodara, and 15,264 in Gandhinagar.
4.40 lakh COVID-19 patients discharged so far
According to the health department, there are over 1.46 lakh active cases of the virus in Gujarat. Of this, 722 patients are critical and have been put on ventilator support. So far, 4.40 lakh patients have been discharged in the state after being treated for the viral infection. In fact, 11,146 patients were discharged in the past 24 hours.
