Gujarat has reported 1,161 fresh cases of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours ending 5 pm on Saturday. The addition of the fresh cases has taken Gujarat’s total tally to 1,58,635.
3,629 COVID-19 related deaths in Gujarat
Nine deaths were reported in the state in the past 24 hours. The fresh fatalities have taken Gujarat’s COVID-19 related death toll to 3,629. While three deaths have been reported from Rajkot, two deaths have been reported each from Ahmedabad and Surat. The districts of Gir Somnath and Vadodara have reported one death each.
239 fresh cases in Surat, 183 in Ahmedabad
Of the 1,161 fresh cases reported on Saturday, 239 cases have been reported from Surat, 183 cases have been reported from Ahmedabad, 116 cases have been reported from Vadodara, and 39 cases have been reported from the state capital Gandhinagar.
This apart, Rajkot has reported 155 cases, Bhavnagar has reported 18 cases, Mehsana 41 cases, and Jamnagar 74 cases.

Meanwhile, Junagarh has reported 41 fresh cases of the virus, whereas the tribal district of Panchamahals has reported 16 fresh cases. Dahod has reported 12 cases, Amreli 20 cases and Kheda 17 cases.
Similarly, Bharuch has reported 27 cases, Valsad has reported one case, Anand eight cases, and Patan 33 cases.
With the addition of the fresh cases, the total COVID-19 case tally in Ahmedabad has increased to 40,027. The total tally has reached 33,689 in Surat, 14,206 in Vadodara, and 4,375 in Gandhinagar.
Ahmedabad’s COVID-19 death toll climbs to 1,869
Similarly, the addition of the two fatalities reported in the past 24 hours has taken the death toll due to COVID-19 in Ahmedabad to 1,869. The death toll has increased to 823 in Surat, whereas it remains 203 for Vadodara and 85 for Gandhinagar.
1.40 lakh COVID-19 patients discharged so far
According to the health department, there are 14,587 active cases of the virus in Gujarat. Of this, 79 patients are critical and have been put on ventilator support. So far, 1.40 lakh patients have been discharged in the state after being treated for the viral infection. In fact, 1,270 patients were discharged in the past 24 hours.
