Gujarat COVID-19 figures on Friday touched 1,40,055 as the state recorded 1,310 new cases. The state has recorded over 1,300 cases for 21 days now while it has recorded over 1400 cases for nine days so far.
The state has carried out 56,732 tests in the last 24 hours.
1,250 patients were cured of COVID-19 in the state in the last 24 hours taking the recovery rate to 85.55%. The state has in all recorded 16,762 active cases of which 84 are on ventilator support. So far 1,19,815 patients have recovered from the disease in the state.
The state also saw 15 fatalities due to the disease. Of these three were in Ahmedabad and Rajkot and two each in Surat and Vadodara. Banaskantha, Bhavnagar, Gandhinagar, Jamnagar and Surendranagar recorded one fatality each.
Of the total deaths in Surat and Ahmedabad, three were in AMC and two in SMC limits.
With this, the Gujarat COVID-19 fatalities stand at 3,478.
The addition of three fatalities reported in the past 24 hours has taken the death toll due to COVID-19 in Ahmedabad to 1,820. The death toll has increased to 776 in Surat, whereas it remains 187 for Vadodara and 79 for Gandhinagar.
Surat city saw 177 new cases being recorded while 101 were reported from the district. Similarly, the Ahmedabad Corporation area had 173 new cases while it was 21 in the district.
Vadodara and Gandhinagar corporations respectively recorded 93 and 28 cases. Interestingly, the city limits of Gandhinagar had fewer cases than the district.
Gujarat COVID-19 other interesting statistics
The state has so far crossed over 1,200 cases per day seven times. Gujarat has recorded over 1,100 cases 18 times, over 1,000 cases 19 times, over 900 cases eight times and over 800 cases for four consecutive days. It has recorded more than 700 cases in a day five times so far.
56,732 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours as part of Gujarat COVID-19 with the number of tests per million per day now standing at 872.80. The state has tested over 45 lakh people for COVID-19 since the pandemic began.
