Gujarat COVID-19 Update: 1,430 new cases recorded


Gujarat COVID-19 figures on Monday touched 1,24,767 as the state recorded 1,430 new cases. This the fourth consecutive day of the state recording over 1400 cases in a day.

The state has recorded over 1,300 cases for 16 days now.  The state has carried out 61,897 tests in the last 24 hours.

1,316 patients were cured of COVID-19 in the state in the last 24 hours taking the recovery rate to 84.23%. The state has in all recorded 16,337 active cases of which 89 are on ventilator support.

Gujarat COVID-19 fatalities was 17 due to the disease. Of this, six were in Surat while three were in Ahmedabad. Vadodara had four deaths while Bhavnagar had two. Gir-Somnath and Rajkot had one fatality each.

Of the total deaths in Surat and Ahmedabad, three were in AMC limits while two were in SMC limits. With this, the total number of deaths in the state stands at 3,339.

The addition of three fatalities reported in the past 24 hours has taken the death toll due to COVID-19 in Ahmedabad to 1,786. The death toll has increased to 737 in Surat, whereas it remains 166 for Vadodara and 74 for Gandhinagar.

Surat city saw 179 new cases being recorded while 111 were reported from the district. Similarly, the Ahmedabad Corporation area had 157 new cases while it was 20 in the district. 

Vadodara and Gandhinagar corporations respectively recorded 95 and 25 cases. Interestingly, the city limits of Gandhinagar had fewer cases than the district.

Gujarat COVID-19 other interesting statistics  

Gujarat COVID-19 figures have so far crossed over 1,200 cases per day seven times. Gujarat has recorded over 1,100 cases 18 times, over 1,000 cases 19 times, over 900 cases eight times and over 800 cases for four consecutive days. It has recorded more than 700 cases in a day five times so far.

The state conducted 61,897 tests in the last 24 hours for COVID-19 with the number of tests per million per day now standing at 952.26. The state has tested over 38 lakh people for COVID-19 since the pandemic began.
