Gujarat COVID-19 Update: 1,381 new cases recorded

Gujarat COVID-19 figures on Tuesday touched 1,36,004 as the state recorded 1,381 new cases. The state has recorded over 1,300 cases for 18 days now while it has recorded over 1400 cases for nine days so far. 

 The state has carried out 62,338 tests in the last 24 hours.

1,383 patients were cured of COVID-19 in the state in the last 24 hours taking the recovery rate to 85.19%. The state has in all recorded 16,703 active cases of which 89 are on ventilator support. So far 1,15,859 patients have recovered from the disease in the state.

The state also saw 11 fatalities due to the disease. Of this, four were in Ahmedabad, three in Surat, two in Rajkot and one each in Vadodara and Gandhinagar.

Of the total deaths in Surat and Ahmedabad, three were in AMC and one in SMC limits.

With this, the Gujarat COVID-19 fatalities stand at 3,442.

The addition of four fatalities reported in the past 24 hours has taken the death toll due to COVID-19 in Ahmedabad to 1,811. The death toll has increased to 766 in Surat, whereas it remains 183 for Vadodara and 78 for Gandhinagar.

Surat city saw 179 new cases being recorded while 132 were reported from the district. Similarly, the Ahmedabad Corporation area had 176 new cases while it was 19 in the district. 

Vadodara and Gandhinagar corporations respectively recorded 90 and 21 cases. Interestingly, the city limits of Gandhinagar had fewer cases than the district.

Gujarat COVID-19 other interesting statistics  

The state has so far crossed over 1,200 cases per day seven times. Gujarat has recorded over 1,100 cases 18 times, over 1,000 cases 19 times, over 900 cases eight times and over 800 cases for four consecutive days. It has recorded more than 700 cases in a day five times so far.

62,338 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours as part of Gujarat COVID-19 with the number of tests per million per day now standing at 959.05. The state has tested over 43 lakh people for COVID-19 since the pandemic began.
