Gujarat COVID-19 Update: 1,335 new cases

Gujarat COVID-19 figures on Tuesday touched 1,45,362 as the state recorded 1,335 new cases. The state has recorded over 1,300 cases for 25 days now while it has recorded over 1400 cases for nine days so far. 

 The state has carried out 51,879 tests in the last 24 hours.

1,473 patients were cured of COVID-19 in the state in the last 24 hours taking the recovery rate to 86.16%. The state has in all recorded 16,597 active cases of which 91 are on ventilator support. So far 1,25,243 patients have recovered from the disease in the state.

The state also saw 10 fatalities due to the disease. Of these four were in Surat and three in Ahmedabad.

Vadodara, Rajkot and Gandhinagar also recorded one fatality each.

Of the total deaths in Surat and Ahmedabad, three were in AMC and one in SMC limits. With this, the Gujarat COVID-19 fatalities stand at 3,522.

The addition of three fatalities reported in the past 24 hours has taken the death toll due to COVID-19 in Ahmedabad to 1,833. The death toll has increased to 792 in Surat, whereas it remains 193 for Vadodara and 80 for Gandhinagar.

Surat city saw 174 new cases being recorded while 107 were reported from the district. Similarly, the Ahmedabad Corporation area had 170 new cases while it was 17 in the district. 

Vadodara and Gandhinagar corporations respectively recorded 84 and 26 cases. Interestingly, the city limits of Gandhinagar had fewer cases than the district.

Gujarat COVID-19 other interesting statistics  

The state has so far crossed over 1,200 cases per day seven times. Gujarat has recorded over 1,100 cases 18 times, over 1,000 cases 19 times, over 900 cases eight times and over 800 cases for four consecutive days. It has recorded more than 700 cases in a day five times so far.

51,879 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours as part of Gujarat COVID-19 with the number of tests per million per day now standing at 798.14. The state has tested over 47 lakh people for COVID-19 since the pandemic began.
