Gujarat COVID-19 Update: 1,334 new cases recorded

Gujarat COVID-19 figures on Monday touched 1,14,996 as the state recorded 1,334 new cases. The state has recorded over 1,300 cases for 13 days now.  The state has carried out 71,507 tests in the last 24 hours.

1,255 patients were cured of COVID-19 in the state in the last 24 hours taking the recovery rate to 82.84%. The state has in all recorded 16,501 active cases of which 93 are on ventilator support.

The state also saw 17 fatalities due to the disease. Of this, three were recorded in Surat, Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar. Jamnagar and Bhavnagar and Rajkot recorded two deaths while Bharuch and Vadodara recorded one fatality each.

Of the total deaths in Surat and Ahmedabad, three were in AMC limits while two were in SMC limits. With this, the total number of deaths in the state stands at 3,230.

The addition of three fatalities reported in the past 24 hours has taken the death toll due to COVID-19 in Ahmedabad to 1,762. The death toll has increased to 701 in Surat, whereas it remains 152 for Vadodara and 67 for Gandhinagar.

Surat city saw 176 new cases being recorded while 102 were reported from the district. Similarly, the Ahmedabad Corporation area had 149 new cases while it was 26 in the district. 

Vadodara and Gandhinagar corporations respectively recorded 90 and 15 cases. Interestingly, the city limits of Gandhinagar had fewer cases than the district.

Gujarat COVID-19 other interesting statistics  

The state has so far crossed over 1,200 cases per day seven times. Gujarat has recorded over 1,100 cases 18 times, over 1,000 cases 19 times, over 900 cases eight times and over 800 cases for four consecutive days. It has recorded more than 700 cases in a day five times so far.

The state conducted 71,507 tests in the last 24 hours for COVID-19 with the number of tests per million per day now standing at 1100.10. The state has tested over 33 lakh people for COVID-19 since the pandemic began.
