Gujarat COVID-19 Update: 1,332 new cases recorded

Gujarat COVID-19 figures on Thursday touched 1,09,630 as the state recorded 1,332 new cases. The state has recorded over 1,300 cases for nine days now.  The state has carried out 72,151 tests in the last 24 hours.

1,415 patients were cured of COVID-19 in the state in the last 24 hours taking the recovery rate to 82.31%. The state has in all recorded 16,230 active cases of which 91 are on ventilator support.

 

The state also saw 15 fatalities due to the disease. Of this, four were in Surat and Ahmedabad each. Amreli had two deaths while Rajkot, Gandhinagar, Vadodara, Jamnagar and Sabarkantha had one fatality each.

Of the total deaths in Surat and Ahmedabad, four were in AMC limits while one was in SMC limits. With this, the total number of deaths in the state stands at 3,167.

The addition of four fatalities reported in the past 24 hours has taken the death toll due to COVID-19 in Ahmedabad to 1,749. The death toll has increased to 682 in Surat, whereas it remains 146 for Vadodara and 62 for Gandhinagar.

Surat city saw 176 new cases being recorded while 102 were reported from the district. Similarly, the Ahmedabad Corporation area had 148 new cases while it was 19 in the district. 

Vadodara and Gandhinagar corporations respectively recorded 84 and 18 cases. Interestingly, the city limits of Gandhinagar had fewer cases than the district.

Gujarat COVID-19 other interesting statistics  

The state has so far crossed over 1,200 cases per day seven times. Gujarat has recorded over 1,100 cases 18 times, over 1,000 cases 19 times, over 900 cases eight times and over 800 cases for four consecutive days. It has recorded more than 700 cases in a day five times so far.

The state conducted 72,151 tests in the last 24 hours for COVID-19 with the number of tests per million per day now standing at 1110.01. The state has tested over 30 lakh people for COVID-19 since the pandemic began.
