Gujarat COVID-19 Update: 1,330 new cases recorded


Gujarat COVID-19 figures on Monday touched 1,05,671 as the state recorded 1,330 new cases. The state has recorded over 1,300 cases consecutively for a week now.  The state has carried out 72,690 tests in the last 24 hours.

1,276 patients were cured of COVID-19 in the state in the last 24 hours taking the recovery rate to 81.42%. The state has in all recorded 16,514 active cases of which 89 are on ventilator support.


The state also saw 15 fatalities due to the disease. Of this, six were in Surat and three in Ahmedabad. Vadodara had two deaths while Amreli, Banskantha, Rajkot and Bhavnagar had one fatality each.

Of the total deaths in Surat and Ahmedabad, four deaths were in SMC limits while all the three were in AMC limits. With this, the total number of deaths in the state stands at 3,123.

The addition of three fatalities reported in the past 24 hours has taken the death toll due to COVID-19 in Ahmedabad to 1,738. The death toll has increased to 668 in Surat, whereas it remains 142 for Vadodara and 58 for Gandhinagar.

Surat city saw 175 new cases being recorded while 111 were reported from the district. Similarly, the Ahmedabad Corporation area had 149 new cases while it was 23 in the district. 

Vadodara and Gandhinagar corporations respectively recorded 91 and 14 cases. Interestingly, the city limits of Gandhinagar had fewer cases than the district.

Gujarat COVID-19 other interesting statistics  

The state has so far crossed over 1,200 cases per day six times. Gujarat has recorded over 1,100 cases 18 times, over 1,000 cases 19 times, over 900 cases eight times and over 800 cases for four consecutive days. It has recorded more than 700 cases in a day five times so far.

The state conducted 72,690 tests in the last 24 hours for COVID-19 with the number of tests per million per day now standing at 1118.30. The state has tested over 28 lakh people for COVID-19 since the pandemic began.
