Gujarat COVID-19 figures on Friday touched 1,49,194 as the state recorded 1,243 new cases. The cases have dipped below the 1300 level after more than a month.
The state has recorded over 1,300 cases for 26 days now while it has recorded over 1400 cases for nine days so far.
The state has carried out 51,662 tests in the last 24 hours.
1,518 patients were cured of COVID-19 in the state in the last 24 hours taking the recovery rate to 86.76%. The state has in all recorded 16,203 active cases of which 83 are on ventilator support. So far 1,29,441 patients have recovered from the disease in the state.
The state also saw 9 fatalities due to the disease. Of these three were in Ahmedabad and Surat each.
Banaskantha, Rajkot and Surendranagar recorded one fatality each.
Of the total deaths in Surat and Ahmedabad, three were in AMC and two in SMC limits.
With this, the Gujarat COVID-19 fatalities stand at 3,550.
The addition of three fatalities reported in the past 24 hours has taken the death toll due to COVID-19 in Ahmedabad to 1,843. The death toll has increased to 800 in Surat, whereas it remains 194 for Vadodara and 80 for Gandhinagar.
Surat city saw 173 new cases being recorded while 91 were reported from the district. Similarly, the Ahmedabad Corporation area had 164 new cases while it was 16 in the district.
Vadodara and Gandhinagar corporations respectively recorded 97 and 19 cases. Interestingly, the city limits of Gandhinagar had fewer cases than the district.
Gujarat COVID-19 other interesting statistics
The state has so far crossed over 1,200 cases per day nine times. Gujarat has recorded over 1,100 cases 18 times, over 1,000 cases 19 times, over 900 cases eight times and over 800 cases for four consecutive days. It has recorded more than 700 cases in a day five times so far.
51,662 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours as part of Gujarat COVID-19 with the number of tests per million per day now standing at 794.80. The state has tested over 49 lakh people for COVID-19 since the pandemic began.
