Gujarat COVID-19 Update: 1,191 new cases


Gujarat COVID-19 figures on Friday touched 1,57,474 as the state recorded 1,191 new cases. The cases have dipped below the 1300 level after more than a month and below 1200 after several months.

 The state has recorded over 1,300 cases for 26 days now while it has recorded over 1400 cases for nine days so far. 

  The state has carried out 52,657 tests in the last 24 hours.

1,279 patients were cured of COVID-19 in the state in the last 24 hours taking the recovery rate to 88.36%. 

 The state has in all recorded 14,705 active cases of which 92 are on ventilator support. So far 1,39,149 patients have recovered from the disease in the state.

 The state also saw 11 fatalities due to the disease. Of these, three were in Ahmedabad and Surat each. Banaskantha, Panchmahals, Rajkot, Gandhinagar and Vadodara recorded one fatality each.

 Of the total deaths in Surat and Ahmedabad, three were in AMC and two in SMC limits.

 With this, the Gujarat COVID-19 fatalities stand at 3,620.

 The addition of three fatalities reported in the past 24 hours has taken the death toll due to COVID-19 in Ahmedabad to 1,868. The death toll has increased to 820 in Surat, whereas it remains 201 for Vadodara and 86 for Gandhinagar.

 Surat city saw 178 new cases being recorded while 90 were reported from the district. Similarly, the Ahmedabad Corporation area had 175 new cases while it was 14 in the district.

Vadodara and Gandhinagar corporations respectively recorded 83 and 21 cases. Interestingly, the city limits of Gandhinagar had fewer cases than the district.

 Gujarat COVID-19 other interesting statistics  

 The state has so far crossed over 1,200 cases per day 11 times. Gujarat has recorded over 1,100 cases 23 times, over 1,000 cases 19 times, over 900 cases eight times and over 800 cases for four consecutive days. It has recorded more than 700 cases in a day five times so far.

 52,657 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours as part of Gujarat COVID-19 with the number of tests per million per day now standing at 810.11. The state has tested over 52 lakh people for COVID-19 since the pandemic began.
