Gujarat COVID-19 figures on Wednesday touched 1,62,985 as the state recorded 1137 new cases. The cases have dipped below the 1,300 level after more than a month and below 1,200 after several months.
The state has recorded over 1,300 cases for 26 days now while it has recorded over 1,400 cases for nine days so far.
The state has carried out 52,986 tests in the last 24 hours. 1,180 patients were cured of COVID-19 in the state in the last 24 hours taking the recovery rate to 89.03%.
The state has in all recorded 14,215 active cases of which 75 are on ventilator support. So far 1,45,107 patients have recovered from the disease in the state.
The state also saw 9 fatalities due to the disease. Of these, two were in Ahmedabad and three Surat. Vadodara, Banaskantha, Bharuch and Gir recorded one fatality each.
Of the total deaths in Surat and Ahmedabad, two each were in AMC and SMC limits. With this, the Gujarat COVID-19 fatalities stand at 3,663.
The addition of two fatalities reported in the past 24 hours has taken the death toll due to COVID-19 in Ahmedabad to 1,882. The death toll has increased to 832 in Surat, whereas it remains 206 for Vadodara and 88 for Gandhinagar.
Surat city saw 169 new cases being recorded while 70 were reported from the district. Similarly, the Ahmedabad Corporation area had 165 new cases while it was 12 in the district.
Vadodara and Gandhinagar corporations respectively recorded 77 and 29 cases. Interestingly, the city limits of Gandhinagar had fewer cases than the district.

The state has so far crossed over 1,200 cases per day 11 times. Gujarat has recorded over 1,100 cases 26 times, over 1,000 cases 20 times, over 900 cases nine times and over 800 cases for four consecutive days. It has recorded more than 700 cases in a day five times so far.
52,986 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours as part of Gujarat COVID-19 with the number of tests per million per day now standing at 815.17. The state has tested over 55 lakh people for COVID-19 since the pandemic began.
