Gujarat on Saturday saw 1,136 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours.
This is the sixth time that the number of per day cases in Gujarat has crossed the 1,100 mark.
The overall number of COVID-19 cases has now crossed 62,000.
The total number of COVID-19 cases in Gujarat now stands at 62,566.
The state has recorded over 1,000 cases six times, over 900 cases eight times and over 800 cases for four consecutive days.
It has recorded more than 700 cases in a day five times so far.
Death due to corona in Gujarat
Gujarat recorded 24 new deaths due to COVID-19 on Saturday
Of the total deaths, 12 were recorded in Surat, four in Ahmedabad and two in Vadodara and Mehsana.
Junagadh, Navsari, Patan and Probandar also recorded one case each.
With this, the total number of deaths in the state stands at 2,465
The COVID-19 death toll is 1,602 for Ahmedabad, 429 for Surat, 83 for Vadodara and 44 for Gandhinagar.
Surat recorded 262 new cases, while Ahmedabad had 146 cases.
Of the total cases recorded in Ahmedabad and Surat, 214 and 138 cases respectively were recorded within the city limits
Vadodara recorded 95 new cases while state capital Gandhinagar had 29 new cases.
Other Gujarat COVID-19 statistics
The state has in all recorded 14,327 active cases of which 78 are on a ventilator.
Gujarat ranks 14th in new cases of COVID-19 being recorded across the country.
It ranks eighth in the number of active COVID-19 patients in India.
The state has conducted over 7.91 lakh sample tests for the disease while 4.80 lakh people remain in quarantine in various districts of Gujarat.
Of this, 4.78 lakh people are under home quarantine. The state said it is carrying out 404.66 tests per million.
