Gujarat COVID-19 Update: 1,091 new cases


Gujarat COVID-19 figures on Sunday touched 1,59,726 as the state recorded 1,091 new cases. The cases have dipped below the 1300 level after more than a month and below 1200 after several months.

 The state has recorded over 1,300 cases for 26 days now while it has recorded over 1400 cases for nine days so far. 

 The state has carried out 52,141 tests in the last 24 hours. 1,233 patients were cured of COVID-19 in the state in the last 24 hours taking the recovery rate to 88.68%. 

The state has in all recorded 14,436 active cases of which 74 are on ventilator support. So far 1,41,652 patients have recovered from the disease in the state.

The state also saw 9 fatalities due to the disease. Of these, five were in Ahmedabad and two in Surat. Gandhinagar and Vadodara recorded one fatality each.

Of the total deaths in Surat and Ahmedabad, four were in AMC and two in SMC limits. With this, the Gujarat COVID-19 fatalities stand at 3,638.

 The addition of five fatalities reported in the past 24 hours has taken the death toll due to COVID-19 in Ahmedabad to 1,875. The death toll has increased to 824 in Surat, whereas it remains 203 for Vadodara and 87 for Gandhinagar.

 Surat city saw 173 new cases being recorded while 66 were reported from the district. Similarly, the Ahmedabad Corporation area had 167 new cases while it was 16 in the district.

 Vadodara and Gandhinagar corporations respectively recorded 76 and 27 cases. Interestingly, the city limits of Gandhinagar had fewer cases than the district.

 Gujarat COVID-19 other interesting statistics  

 The state has so far crossed over 1,200 cases per day 11 times. Gujarat has recorded over 1,100 cases 24 times, over 1,000 cases 20 times, over 900 cases eight times and over 800 cases for four consecutive days. It has recorded more than 700 cases in a day five times so far.

 52,141 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours as part of Gujarat COVID-19 with the number of tests per million per day now standing at 802.17. The state has tested over 53 lakh people for COVID-19 since the pandemic began.
