Gujarat COVID-19 figure on Friday touched 76,587 as the state recorded 1,087 new cases of the disease. The state has in all recorded 14,299 active cases of which 71 are on a ventilator.
The state also saw 15 fatalities due to the disease. Of this, five were recorded in Surat and four in Ahmedabad. All the deaths in Ahmedabad were recorded from the city limits while four deaths in Surat were in the SMC areas.
Rajkot and Jamnagar recorded two death each while Vadodara and Gandhinagar had one death each. With this, the total number of deaths in the state stands at 2,748.
The COVID-19 death toll is 1,652 for Ahmedabad, 529 for Surat, 105 for Vadodara and 49 for Gandhinagar.
Surat city saw 167 new cases being recorded while 64 were reported from the district. Similarly Ahmedabad Corporation area had 149 new cases while it was just 12 in the district.
Vadodara and Gandhinagar corporations respectively recorded 89 and 14 cases. Interestingly, the city limits of Gandhinagar had less cases than the district.
Other interesting Gujarat COVID-19 statistics
The state has recorded over 1,100 cases 10 times, over 1000 cases fifteen times, over 900 cases eight times and over 800 cases for four consecutive days. It has recorded more than 700 cases in a day five times so far.
The state conducted 51,225 tests in the last 24 hours for COVID-19 which comes to 788.07 tests per million. The state has tested over 12 lakh people for COVID-19 since the pandemic began.
