Gujarat on Friday saw 1,074 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours.
This is the eleventh time that the number of per day cases in Gujarat has crossed the 1,000 mark.
The overall number of COVID-19 cases has now crossed 68,000.
The total number of COVID-19 cases in Gujarat now stands at 67,885.
The state has recorded over 1,100 cases seven times, over 900 cases eight times and over 800 cases for four consecutive days.
It has recorded more than 700 cases in a day five times so far.
Death due to corona in Gujarat
Gujarat recorded 22 new deaths due to COVID-19 on Friday.
Of the total deaths, 10 were recorded in Surat, three in Ahmedabad and two each in Morbi and Vadodara. One death each was reported from Amreli, Anand, Jamnagar, Rajkot and Valsad.
With this, the total number of deaths in the state stands at 2,606.
The COVID-19 death toll is 1,628 for Ahmedabad, 488 for Surat, 95 for Vadodara and 46 for Gandhinagar.
Surat recorded 231 new cases, while Ahmedabad had 153 cases.
Of the total cases recorded in Ahmedabad and Surat, 183 and 142 cases respectively were recorded within the city limits
Vadodara recorded 110 new cases while state capital Gandhinagar had 27 new cases.
Other statistics related to Gujarat COVID-19
The state has in all recorded 14,587 active cases of which 86 are on a ventilator.
Gujarat ranks 14th in new cases of COVID-19 being recorded across the country.
It ranks tenth in the number of active COVID-19 patients in India.
The state has conducted over 9.30 lakh sample tests for the disease while 4.84 lakh people remain in quarantine in various districts of Gujarat.
Of this, 4.83 lakh people are under home quarantine. The state said it is carrying out 409.09 tests per million.
