Gujarat on Monday reported 1,056 new COVID-19 cases taking the total number of such cases in the state to 72,120.
The state has in all recorded 14,170 active cases of which 76 are on a ventilator.
The state also saw 20 fatalities due to the disease. Of this eight were recorded in Surat, half of which were in the city limits.
Ahmedabad had four deaths while Vadodara had two. Amreli, Bhavnagar, Mehsana, Porbandar, Rajkot and Tapi saw one death due to the disease.
With this, the total number of Gujarat COVID-19 deaths stands at 2,649.
The COVID-19 death toll is 1,637 for Ahmedabad, 506 for Surat, 99 for Vadodara and 47 for Gandhinagar.
Surat city saw 176 new cases being recorded while 60 were reported from the district. Similarly, Ahmedabad Corporation area had 133 new cases while it was just 11 in the district.
Vadodara and Gandhinagar corporations respectively recorded 93 and 8 cases. Interestingly, the city limits of Gandhinagar had fewer cases than the district.
Interesting Gujarat COVID-19 statistics
The state recorded over 1,100 cases eight times, over 1000 cases thirteen times, over 900 cases eight times and over 800 cases for four consecutive days. It has recorded more than 700 cases in a day five times so far.
29,602 tests were conducted in Gujarat in the last 24 hours for COVID-19 which comes to 455.44 tests per million. Over 10 lakh people have been tested for COVID-19 in Gujarat since the pandemic began.
