Gujarat COVID-19 figures on Saturday touched 1,79,729 as the state recorded 1,046 new cases. This the second time after almost a fortnight that cases have crossed the 1000 level.
The state has recorded over 1,300 cases for 26 days now while it has recorded over 1,400 cases for nine days so far.
The state has carried out 51,761 tests in the last 24 hours. 931 patients were cured of COVID-19 in the state in the last 24 hours taking the recovery rate to 91.15%.
The state has in all recorded 12,146 active cases of which 71 are on ventilator support. So far 1,63,777 patients have recovered from the disease in the state.
The state also saw five fatalities due to the disease. Of these, two are in Ahmedabad and one each in Surat, Vadodara and Banaskantha.
Of the total deaths in Surat and Ahmedabad, two were in AMC and one in SMC limits. With this, the Gujarat COVID-19 fatalities stand at 3,756.
The addition of two fatalities reported in the past 24 hours has taken the death toll due to COVID-19 in Ahmedabad to 1,919. The death toll has increased to 861 in Surat, whereas it remains 210 for Vadodara and 94 for Gandhinagar.
Surat city saw 157 new cases being recorded while 35 were reported from the district. Similarly, the Ahmedabad Corporation area had 161 new cases while it was 21 in the district.
Vadodara and Gandhinagar corporations respectively recorded 82 and 22 cases. Interestingly, the city limits of Gandhinagar had fewer cases than the district.

The state has so far crossed over 1,200 cases per day 11 times. Gujarat has recorded over 1,100 cases 28 times, over 1,000 cases 23 times, over 900 cases 19 times and over 800 cases for six days. It has recorded more than 700 cases in a day five times so far.
51,761 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours as part of Gujarat COVID-19 with the number of tests per million per day now standing at 796.32. The state has tested over 64 lakh people for COVID-19 since the pandemic began.
