Gujarat on Tuesday saw 1,020 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours.
This is the eighth time that the number of per day cases in Gujarat has crossed the 1,000 mark.
The overall number of COVID-19 cases has now crossed 65,000.
The total number of COVID-19 cases in Gujarat now stands at 65,704.
The state has recorded over 1,100 cases seven times, over 900 cases eight times and over 800 cases for four consecutive days.
It has recorded more than 700 cases in a day five times so far.
Death due to corona in Gujarat
Gujarat recorded 25 new deaths due to COVID-19 on Tuesday
Of the total deaths, 11 were recorded in Surat, four in Junagadh and three in Ahmedabad and Jamnagar each. Vadodara recorded two deaths while Bhavnagar and Rajkot recorded one death each.
With this, the total number of deaths in the state stands at 2,534.
The COVID-19 death toll is 1,613 for Ahmedabad, 463 for Surat, 88 for Vadodara and 45 for Gandhinagar.
Surat recorded 245 new cases, while Ahmedabad had 153 cases.
Of the total cases recorded in Ahmedabad and Surat, 194 and 138 cases respectively were recorded within the city limits
Vadodara recorded 105 new cases while state capital Gandhinagar had 28 new cases.
Corona related other statistics
The state has in all recorded 14,811 active cases of which 87 are on a ventilator.
Gujarat ranks 12th in new cases of COVID-19 being recorded across the country.
It ranks eighth in the number of active COVID-19 patients in India.
The state has conducted over 8.54 lakh sample tests for the disease while 4.89 lakh people remain in quarantine in various districts of Gujarat.
Of this, 4.87 lakh people are under home quarantine. The state said it is carrying out 319 tests per million.
