Gujarat on Monday saw 1,009 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours.
This is the seventh time that the number of per day cases in Gujarat has crossed the 1,000 mark.
The overall number of COVID-19 cases has now crossed 64,000.
The total number of COVID-19 cases in Gujarat now stands at 64,684.
The state has recorded over 1,100 cases seven times, over 900 cases eight times and over 800 cases for four consecutive days.
It has recorded more than 700 cases in a day five times so far.
Death due to corona in Gujarat
Gujarat recorded 22 new deaths due to COVID-19 on Monday
Of the total deaths, 11 were recorded in Surat and six in Ahmedabad.
Bhavnagar, Junagadh, Kutch, Rajkot and Vadodara recorded one case each.
With this, the total number of deaths in the state stands at 2,509
The COVID-19 death toll is 1,610 for Ahmedabad, 452 for Surat, 86 for Vadodara and 45 for Gandhinagar.
Surat recorded 258 new cases, while Ahmedabad had 151 cases.
Of the total cases recorded in Ahmedabad and Surat, 198 and 139 cases respectively were recorded within the city limits
Vadodara recorded 98 new cases while state capital Gandhinagar had 25 new cases.
Corona related other statistics
The state has in all recorded 14,614 active cases of which 83 are on a ventilator.
Gujarat ranks 12th in new cases of COVID-19 being recorded across the country.
It ranks seventh in the number of active COVID-19 patients in India.
The state has conducted over 8.34 lakh sample tests for the disease while 4.81 lakh people remain in quarantine in various districts of Gujarat.
Of this, 4.80 lakh people are under home quarantine. The state said it is carrying out 304.13 tests per million.
