Gujarat COVID-19 figures on Tuesday touched 1,61,848 as the state recorded 1126 new cases. The cases have dipped below the 1,300 level after more than a month and below 1,200 after several months.
The state has recorded over 1,300 cases for 26 days now while it has recorded over 1,400 cases for nine days so far. The state has carried out 52,915 tests in the last 24 hours.
1,128 patients were cured of COVID-19 in the state in the last 24 hours taking the recovery rate to 88.93%.
The state has in all recorded 14,267 active cases of which 76 are on ventilator support. So far 1,43,927 patients have recovered from the disease in the state.
The state also saw 8 fatalities due to the disease. Of these, two were in Ahmedabad and Surat. Vadodara, Rajkot, Gandhinagar and Mehsana recorded two fatalities each.
Of the total deaths in Surat and Ahmedabad, two each were in AMC and SMC limits. With this, the Gujarat COVID-19 fatalities stand at 3,654.
The addition of two fatalities reported in the past 24 hours has taken the death toll due to COVID-19 in Ahmedabad to 1,880. The death toll has increased to 829 in Surat, whereas it remains 205 for Vadodara and 88 for Gandhinagar.
Surat city saw 167 new cases being recorded while 64 were reported from the district. Similarly, the Ahmedabad Corporation area had 164 new cases while it was 14 in the district.
Vadodara and Gandhinagar corporations respectively recorded 71 and 23 cases. Interestingly, the city limits of Gandhinagar had fewer cases than the district.

The state has so far crossed over 1,200 cases per day 11 times. Gujarat has recorded over 1,100 cases 25 times, over 1,000 cases 20 times, over 900 cases nine times and over 800 cases for four consecutive days. It has recorded more than 700 cases in a day five times so far.
52,915 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours as part of Gujarat COVID-19 with the number of tests per million per day now standing at 814.08. The state has tested over 54 lakh people for COVID-19 since the pandemic began.
