Gujarat: COVID-19 tally crosses 2.80 lakh, death toll touches 4,427


Gujarat has reported 954 fresh cases of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours ending 5 pm on Tuesday. The addition of the fresh cases has taken Gujarat’s total tally to 2,80,051.

4,427 COVID-19 related deaths in Gujarat

Two deaths were reported in the state in the past 24 hours. The fresh fatalities have taken Gujarat’s COVID-19 related death toll to 4,427. Both the deaths were reported from Ahmedabad.

247 fresh cases in Ahmedabad, 292 in Surat

Of the 954 fresh cases reported on Tuesday, 292 cases have been reported from Surat, 247 cases have been reported from Ahmedabad, 109 cases have been reported from Vadodara, and 21 cases have been reported from the state capital Gandhinagar.

This apart, Rajkot has reported 85 cases, Bhavnagar has reported 15 cases, Mehsana 14 cases, and Jamnagar 20 cases.

Meanwhile, Junagarh has reported five fresh cases of the virus, whereas the tribal district of Panchamahals has reported 10 fresh cases. Dahod has reported eight cases, Amreli six cases and Kheda 15 cases.

Similarly, Bharuch has reported 26 cases, Valsad has reported two cases, Anand 14 cases, and Patan reported five cases.

With the addition of the fresh cases, the total COVID-19 case tally in Ahmedabad has increased to 65,088. The total tally has reached 56,360 in Surat, 31,456 in Vadodara, and 8,980 in Gandhinagar.

2.70 lakh COVID-19 patients discharged so far

According to the health department, there are 4,966 active cases of the virus in Gujarat. Of this, 58 patients are critical and have been put on ventilator support. So far, 2.70 lakh patients have been discharged in the state after being treated for the viral infection. In fact, 703 patients were discharged in the past 24 hours.
