Gujarat: COVID-19 tally crosses 2.59 lakh, death toll touches 4,376


Gujarat has reported 410 fresh cases of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours ending 5 pm on Sunday. The addition of the fresh cases has taken Gujarat’s total tally to 2,59,097.

4,376 COVID-19 related deaths in Gujarat

One death was reported in the state in the past 24 hours. The fresh fatality has taken Gujarat’s COVID-19 related death toll to 4,376. The lone death was reported from Mahisagar.

92 fresh cases in Ahmedabad, 85 in Surat

Of the 410 fresh cases reported on Sunday, 85 cases have been reported from Surat, 92 cases have been reported from Ahmedabad, 86 cases have been reported from Vadodara, and nine cases have been reported from the state capital Gandhinagar.

This apart, Rajkot has reported 59 cases, Bhavnagar has reported two cases, Mehsana six cases, and Jamnagar six cases.

Meanwhile, Junagarh has reported 11 fresh cases of the virus, whereas the tribal district of Panchamahals has reported four fresh cases. Dahod has reported six cases, Amreli two cases and Kheda two cases.

Similarly, Bharuch has reported seven cases, Valsad has reported one case, Anand two cases, and Patan has reported no case.

With the addition of the fresh cases, the total COVID-19 case tally in Ahmedabad has increased to 60,512. The total tally has reached 52,056 in Surat, 27,431 in Vadodara, and 8,486 in Gandhinagar.

2.50 lakh COVID-19 patients discharged so far

According to the health department, there are 4,665 active cases of the virus in Gujarat. Of this, 48 patients are critical and have been put on ventilator support. So far, 2.50 lakh patients have been discharged in the state after being treated for the viral infection. In fact, 704 patients were discharged in the past 24 hours.
