Gujarat has reported 715 fresh cases of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours ending 5 pm on Sunday. The addition of the fresh cases has taken Gujarat’s total tally to 2,47,228.
4,318 COVID-19 related deaths in Gujarat
Four deaths were reported in the state in the past 24 hours. The fresh fatalities have taken Gujarat’s COVID-19 related death toll to 4,318. While two deaths have been reported from Ahmedabad, one death has been reported from Botad. Another death has been reported from Rajkot.
151 fresh cases in Ahmedabad, 127 in Surat
Of the 715 fresh cases reported on Monday, 127 cases have been reported from Surat, 151 cases have been reported from Ahmedabad, 134 cases have been reported from Vadodara, and 21 cases have been reported from the state capital Gandhinagar.
This apart, Rajkot has reported 76 cases, Bhavnagar has reported eight cases, Mehsana 14 cases, and Jamnagar 15 cases.
Meanwhile, Junagarh has reported 13 fresh cases of the virus, whereas the tribal district of Panchamahals has reported 14 fresh cases. Dahod has reported 11 cases, Amreli five cases and Kheda seven cases.
Similarly, Bharuch has reported 15 cases, Valsad has reported one case, Anand 17 cases, and Patan two cases.
With the addition of the fresh cases, the total COVID-19 case tally in Ahmedabad has increased to 58,095. The total tally has reached 49,815 in Surat, 25,210 in Vadodara, and 8,157 in Gandhinagar.
Ahmedabad’s COVID-19 death toll climbs to 2,257
Similarly, the addition of the two fatalities reported in the past 24 hours has taken the death toll due to COVID-19 in Ahmedabad to 2,257. The death toll has increased to 967 in Surat, whereas it remains 236 for Vadodara and 105 for Gandhinagar.
2.33 lakh COVID-19 patients discharged so far
According to the health department, there are 9,250 active cases of the virus in Gujarat. Of this, 61 patients are critical and have been put on ventilator support. So far, 2.33 lakh patients have been discharged in the state after being treated for the viral infection. In fact, 938 patients were discharged in the past 24 hours.
