Gujarat: COVID-19 tally crosses 2.41 lakh, death toll touches 4,282

Gujarat has reported 850 fresh cases of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours ending 5 pm on Sunday. The addition of the fresh cases has taken Gujarat’s total tally to 2,41,845.

4,282 COVID-19 related deaths in Gujarat

Seven deaths were reported in the state in the past 24 hours. The fresh fatalities have taken Gujarat’s COVID-19 related death toll to 4,282. While four deaths have been reported from Ahmedabad, two deaths have been reported from Surat. One death has been reported from Vadodara.

178 fresh cases in Ahmedabad, 158 in Surat

Of the 850 fresh cases reported on Monday, 178 cases have been reported from Surat, 158 cases have been reported from Ahmedabad, 135 cases have been reported from Vadodara, and 26 cases have been reported from the state capital Gandhinagar.

This apart, Rajkot has reported 92 cases, Bhavnagar has reported 23 cases, Mehsana 22 cases, and Jamnagar 20 cases.

Meanwhile, Junagarh has reported 15 fresh cases of the virus, whereas the tribal district of Panchamahals has reported 16 fresh cases. Dahod has reported 30 cases, Amreli nine cases and Kheda 13 cases.

Similarly, Bharuch has reported eight cases, Valsad has reported two cases, Anand six cases, and Patan six cases.

With the addition of the fresh cases, the total COVID-19 case tally in Ahmedabad has increased to 56,969. The total tally has reached 48,822 in Surat, 24,304 in Vadodara, and 8,009 in Gandhinagar.

Ahmedabad’s COVID-19 death toll climbs to 2,240

Similarly, the addition of the four fatalities reported in the past 24 hours has taken the death toll due to COVID-19 in Ahmedabad to 2,240. The death toll has increased to 958 in Surat, whereas it remains 234 for Vadodara and 105 for Gandhinagar.

2.27 lakh COVID-19 patients discharged so far

According to the health department, there are 10,435 active cases of the virus in Gujarat. Of this, 63 patients are critical and have been put on ventilator support. So far, 2.27 lakh patients have been discharged in the state after being treated for the viral infection. In fact, 920 patients were discharged in the past 24 hours.
